 **"A Prayer for Ernern, My Beloved Cat"**  

O God, who paints the stars and shapes the sparrow’s wing,  

Who tends the lilies, hears the cricket’s song—  

You know my heart, how deeply love can cling  

To one so small, whose paws have trod along  

The quiet halls of home, a tender light,  

A purring hymn at midnight by my side.  

His eyes, twin pools of amber warm and bright,  

Your artistry—in fur and whiskers tied.  

Oh, guard him well, this little life I treasure,  

Let angels shield his steps, both near and far.  

Grant him the joy of sunlit naps at leisure,  

The chase of dreams where silver fireflies are.  

And if his days outnumber mine, I pray:  

**"Keep him in Your hands till I’m restored—  

Let heaven’s fields be where we run and play,  

Forever loved, forever held, adored."**
